What is Tungsten Carbide?

Tungsten carbide is a powder metallurgy material made by combining tungsten carbide powder with binder metals such as cobalt or nickel, compacting the mixture and sintering it in a furnace. It is widely used for wire dies, bushings, plugs and nibs because of its strength, hardness and abrasion resistance.
